It was after 6 pm on a Saturday and although we were guaranteed a rainless day, it had not stopped raining! James and me were relaxing there talking over the recent sports rankings, prepared for the seventh job to arrive. Inevitably we had the phone call from a young lady on a company trip who had pulled into the BP filling garage in Fourlanes End and put the wrong fuel in her diesel Audi rental. The unfortunate lady was somewhat distressed apparently, crying "I simply cannot believe I have destroyed the vehicle! I am just so used to putting petrol in my petrol vehicle I totally forgot that I was running a diesel!" We told her to relax and not to fret, and that such things regrettably do happen. She was able to maneuver the vehicle to a protected spot and, seeing as it was just a few minutes away from our van, we could get to her swiftly. The bad fuel was removed so she could go home to the Premier Inn she was staying at. Despite the fact that we got very drenched, it was all worth the effort seeing her drive off calm and a lot less apprehensive. Yet another misfuel correction in Cheshire well done in my books!

Wrong Fuel Drain Fourlanes End - Fourlanes End Wrong Fuel
I'd had a great evening golfing on my day off and felt contented with myself the next day as I set off to assist a new family who were on vacation in Fourlanes End. They stopped after adding diesel into their Mitsubishi, and were roughly an hour's drive away. I showed up at their car and laughed as I listened to the girl telling her spouse off for turning out to be so foolish. "How could you conceivably be able to put the wrong fuel in the car?" she told him. I tried to explain that this goes on continuously in Cheshire and that it's absolutely nothing to fret about, and yet he still got his ear bent. Poor boy. Anyhow, I drained out all the contaminated fuel, flushed the fuel system and filled it up with the correct fuel. Watching as they drove down the road I waved goodbye and wondered what my wife would ask me if perhaps I made the exact same blunder... I'd personally never ever live it down!

I got the job completed and she gave me a Murray mint and said thanks. Such a lovely Cheshire woman!
